Novotel Amsterdam City has 610 rooms and 1,300 m² of meeting space spread across 20 rooms. As a Conference & Event Coordinator, you and your team are responsible for our Convention Center bookings and, to some extent, room reservations as well.
Job Description
We are looking for a new Banqueting Manager to deliver unforgettable events for our guests. In this role, you will play a key part in making every event within our 1,200 m² of meeting space a success. While we primarily organize corporate events, we also regularly welcome large leisure groups.
What will you be doing?
As Banqueting Manager, you are part of our F&B team, but you are responsible for the daily operations within our Convention Centre. You will maintain a healthy balance between administrative office tasks and being actively present on the floor. When the Convention Centre is less busy, you will be responsible for managing the breakfast service in our restaurant.
In this role, you will also work closely with the Banquet Sales department, which prepares the events, so that together you can flawlessly execute the daily operational aspects.
Some of your key performance indicators include:
- Full responsibility for your own department, including recruitment, staffing, training, and supervision;
- Planning and coordinating events;
- Managing and monitoring inventory, taking action when faced with loss or breakage;
- Supporting the F&B Manager in developing the strategy for the Banqueting and Breakfast departments;
- A “Yes, we can” attitude, as unexpected challenges may arise, and you must be able to quickly adapt and find effective solutions.
Qualifications

In this position, you are the central link on the floor. You connect easily with both your colleagues and our clients. You are the perfect host, with an eye for detail, and you strive to make every event a success. Last-minute changes or requests don’t intimidate you. In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:
- You have completed an MBO-level education, preferably in Hotel Management or Event Management;
- You have at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory and/or shift leader role;
- You have excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills;
- Knowledge of AV systems is a plus;
- You are fluent in English, and knowledge of Dutch is a strong advantage.
