Description
Responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and supplies needed for production. They ensure that these materials are procured at the best possible cost, within budget, and delivered on time to meet production schedules.Key Responsibilities
· Purchasing Materials: Source and buy materials and supplies required for production.· Cost Management: Ensure cost-effective procurement of goods, negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.· Supplier Management: Maintain and develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, monitoring their performance and quality.· Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to determine competitive pricing and identify opportunities to reduce costs.· Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking.· Compliance: Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and legal requirements.· Coordination: Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, finance, logistics) to align procurement activities with business goals.· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate purchasing records and data.Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
· Experience: Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management is essential.· Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.· Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) can be advantageous.Technical Skills
· Procurement Knowledge: Understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.· Market Analysis: Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.· Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure the best prices and terms from suppliers.· ERP Systems: Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for managing procurement activities.· Data Analysis: Competence in analyzing data to forecast demand, manage inventory, and optimize procurement strategies.
