About the Opportunity
As Head of Business Control, you have a holistic view of the organisation and the overall business objectives. You are a sparring partner to our shareholders, leadership team, and you are a challenger of the status quo.
You are part of the Leadership team and work closely with your colleagues and interact constantly with the data analytics team. You direct and guide the business control team allowing them to provide strategic guidance and business insights to the Board and Leadership.
You ensure data is analysed and interpreted, and accordingly provide guidance to other departments on where and how to optimise the growth and operational excellence. You’ll be the go-to person for strategic advisory and data-driven decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and leading a high-performing business control team
- Being pivotal in defining and advising on the company strategy
- Being responsible for the monthly business progress update to our senior leadership team
- Driving the setting of Company’s OKRs and monitoring the progress accordingly
- Transitioning Bitvavo into a data driven organisation and ensuring the organisations’ decision making is based on data insights
- Developing a KPI dashboard and implementing (together with the Data team) a data warehouse and associated BI Tooling
- Developing profitability analyses such as unit economics, customer lifetime value, variance analysis, and gross margin analysis together with the Data Analytics team
- Leading our financial planning and budgeting cycles such as the mid-term planning, annual forecast, monthly budget, and latest estimate
What We Look For
- University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent
- 7 years+ of successful experience in a Controlling, Finance, or Accounting position, of which at least 3 years in a similar role
- Experience with Fintech and/or Hyper Growth environments
- Strong analytical skills and experience with BI Tooling
- Excellent modelling and presentation skills (in Excel and Powerpoint)
- A personality that thrives and grows in a rapidly changing and complex environment and who also displays flexibility, activates networks, and adopts a continuous growth mindset to learn from mistakes and bounce back from adversity
