Roles and responsibilities:
A great opportunity to join APM Terminals as the Head of FP&A, Performance Management, and Business Finance. You will play a pivotal role in driving strategic insights, optimizing performance management, and leading a talented finance team. With your expertise, you will ensure our CEO, CFO and senior management have the insights needed to steer the company towards success. Deliver data and business driven insight, quality forecasts, and storytelling (FP&A): Ensure the CEO, CFO and senior management team has the insights and foresight needed to understand where the company is headed and if our strategy delivers the expected results.
Help Management effectively run the business: Enable the COO, CCO and CFO to run the business by designing and executing an effective performance management system, supported by a strong team of functional finance business partners.
Provide Finance leadership: Support the finance organization across terminals and regions with tools and performance management systems, putting them in a position to support the business and deliver high quality results.
FP&A Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality management reporting to the senior management, board and external market and write regular updates on performance for APMM Executive Leadership Team.
Analyse financial performance and communicate conclusions and recommendations and drive them to action. Produce ad hoc analysis in written and visual form deepen business understanding and problem solving in the leadership team.
Run and improve our forecasting cycle through planning, coordination and teamwork with key business managers as well as regional and local finance colleagues.
Deliver a 5-year Business Plan bridging strategy with financial forecasts creating a strong link with existing investment plans.
Effectively coordinate with stakeholders in APMM to ensure we shape the standard processes and adhere to them.
Quality assurance of transformation program benefits, ensuring there is a clear link to the underlying business performance and outlook.
Performance Management responsibilities:
Design, optimize and execute an effective performance management cycle ensuring performance gaps are addressed and that effective performance discussions take place between regions and terminals (TPR), in HQ functions (COO performance review, CCO performance review), between region and HQ (BPR) and between the COO/CCO/CFO and the CEO (CEO debrief).
Lead the CEO debrief ensuring the leadership teams cover main performance gaps, agree on what the main problems are and take corrective actions.
Govern the scorecard and target setting process, ensuring we measure and reward our employees based on metrics consistent with our strategy and financial commitments.
Support the Policy Deployment (strategy execution) process.
Business Finance responsibilities:
Lead a team of functional Finance Business Partners supporting Commercial, Operations Excellence, LEAN/FLOW and Asset Management.
Be the finance representative in the COO leadership team, being the primary business partner, coordinating with sub-function business partners in your own team, the Investment Finance team and the Value Realization team.
Finance Leadership responsibilities:
Lead a team of 6 people in The Hague and 13 in India, showing strong leadership, coaching and teamwork skills.
Provide guidance, tools, processes and training to the regional and terminal finance functions enabling them to run effective performance management and forecasting processes.
Increase the ‘Financial Acumen’ of our organization through developing and delivering training courses and tools to finance and non-finance staff in our terminals, including - but not limited to - sessions in the Mirai training program.
What we are looking for:
A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field combined with a solid understanding of accounting principles and general financial processes
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong stakeholder management skills. Advanced communication skills, including proficiency in creating presentations, writing reports, and verbal communication.
Exceptional analytical abilities and a strong financial acumen.
A hands-on professional with a track record of driving results.
8-15 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Strategy, or Management Consulting and several years of leadership experience, demonstrating the
ability to lead and inspire teams.A history of high performance and a relentless drive to improve the status quo.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage peak workloads effectively.
An interest in data science and experience with tools such as PowerBI
