Come ride with us as our Inbound Freight Coordinator at Cannondale’s factory in Almelo, reporting to our In-House Planning Team Lead. As our Inbound Freight Coordinator, you’ll be the force that keeps everything moving, making sure every part arrives on time so production runs smoothly and our riders get the bikes they count on. You don’t just track freight, you power the entire operation forward.
Note: This is not a remote position. This role is based in our in Almelo, Netherlands office.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Freight Coordination
- Plan and coordinate inbound shipments from suppliers and vendors
- Monitor the progress of shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or issues
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to schedule and track shipments
- Prepare instructions towards brokers to enable them to prepare import declarations and ensure the correct import duties are paid
Vendor and Carrier Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and carriers
- Negotiate shipping terms, rates, and agreements with carriers to optimize costs and efficiency
- Review and approve freight and/or duty invoices
Reporting and Analysis
- Generate and analyze reports on inbound freight performance, costs, and delivery times
- Identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the inbound freight process
Problem resolution
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to inbound shipments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement corrective measures and improve freight processes
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in inbound freight coordination or logistics roles
- Strong understanding of freight and logistics processes, including knowledge of various shipping methods and regulations
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be fluent in Dutch and English in verbal and written
- Experience in biking industry or passion for cycling/outdoor sports is a plus
