Job Description
As part of our Europe team you will own our people communications plan, communicating with our 2,000+ colleagues across 26 countries. Our business is currently experiencing a period of transition while we integrate Turner & Townsend with CBRE Project Management, following the recent combining of the two businesses and as we prepare to launch our next 5-year business strategy. This role will focus on establishing an internal communications function for the Europe region, setting up processes, channels and campaigns to communicate strategic BAU messages to our people as well as supporting our change communications colleagues who are focused on ensuring a smooth integration process.
While we operate from a number of strategic hub offices across Europe (Amsterdam, Dublin, Munich, Paris, Madrid, Milan) the majority of our colleagues work on client sites, sometimes in remote locations. Key areas of focus for this role will be driving consistency and clarity in our internal communications, ensuring our colleagues feel part of one Turner & Townsend business.
Key relationships and stakeholders
This role reports directly to the Director for Change and Transformation with a dotted line to Global Corporate Communications Director.
Key stakeholders include the Regional Managing Director, Regional HR Lead and Regional Business Generation Lead as well as the Managing Directors of each of the countries within our Europe region.
The role will also need to work closely with our Global Internal Communications team, based in London.
Role requirements
- Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy and plan for our Europe business, aligned to the overall business goals and objectives as set out in our ‘Vision 2030’.
- Manage a programme of leadership communications for our Regional Managing Director.
- Advise Managing Directors of each country on communications approaches and mobilise a network of communications champions across the region to support with delivery of communications, ensuring messaging is cascaded effectively and consistently.
- Deliver communications to support important business change initiatives, such as system implementations, and including supporting the regional change team on our integration with CBRE Project Management.
- Own communications channels such as Viva Engage and Poppulo on behalf of the Europe region, promoting best practice and engagement liaising with the global communications team, based in London.
- Align with the global internal communications team and corporate internal communications calendar, tailoring and delivering company-wide campaigns specifically for Europe.
- Manage relationships with third-party agencies and suppliers when required.
Qualifications
- Ability to develop and deliver internal communications strategy and plans in a complex environment.
- Experience in producing leadership communications pieces across a variety of channels, working closely with MD or C-suite level executives.
- Significant change communications experience, ideally with hands-on experience of merger & acquisition/integration communications.
- Experience in producing impactful, compelling communications for a diverse internal audience, ideally including non-office-based colleagues.
- Excellent copywriting skills, with demonstrable experience in creating clear and persuasive copy.
- A journalistic understanding of good content and the ability to curate and distil stories on a variety of topics.
- Ideally multi-lingual (including English to mother tongue standard) with previous experience of working in pan-European roles.
