Description
As the Key Account Manager Retail – Benelux, you will lead Redefine Meat’s retail presence across the region, driving commercial growth through strategic customer partnerships and world-class execution. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role that blends strategic account development with in-field presence and data-driven decision-making. You’ll own relationships with key retailers, develop joint business plans, and bring our product portfolio to life — both in-store and online.
We are in the early stages of building our retail footprint in Benelux, making customer intimacy, retail insight, and pragmatic use of data critical for success.

Requirements

1. Strategic Account Development & Customer Intimacy
- Manage and grow key retail accounts across the Benelux region
- Build trust-based relationships at all relevant levels — from category managers to marketing and store operations teams
- Develop and execute joint business plans encompassing assortment, pricing, promotion, and innovation
- Lead annual negotiations and trade agreements with clarity and strategic foresight
- Act as a trusted partner to customers by co-developing growth plans and leveraging shared category insights
2. Field Execution & Market Insight
- Maintain strong field presence: visit stores, engage with staff and consumers, and observe shopper behavior
- Monitor competitor activity, promotional execution, and in-store visibility
- Feed field observations back into commercial planning and execution strategies
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and activate impactful consumer and shopper campaigns
3. Data-Driven Commercial Strategy
- Pragmatically collect and utilize relevant data — including brand/category penetration, rate of sale, pricing, repeat purchase, and shopper insights — from both customers and the field
- Use retailer tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, POS portals) to track performance and identify actionable opportunities
- Define tailored commercial strategies per customer/channel ("Where to Play" and "How to Win")
- Analyze performance, adjust plans, and drive sustainable, scalable growth
4. Revenue Management & Forecasting
- Own and manage customer-level forecasting; contribute to total retail forecast accuracy
- Track trade spend, optimize promotional ROI, and drive profitable volume growth
- Make smart, data-backed commercial decisions that balance topline growth with healthy margins
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as the internal voice of the Benelux retail channel, aligning closely with Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing
- Act as a category ambassador, translating shopper and market insights into commercial action
- Take full ownership of the channel and help shape Redefine Meat’s go-to-market strategy
What you'll bring
Experience & Education
- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in FMCG, with a strong focus on retail
- Proven success managing key accounts and leading complex negotiations
- Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
Capabilities
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Ability to build deep customer relationships and deliver mutual value
- Pragmatic, data-focused mindset with proven analytical skills
- Experience working with retail analytics tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) and POS data
- Familiarity with in-store execution, consumer behavior, and omnichannel dynamics
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and resilient — thrives in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
- Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a strong advantage
