Company Description
Dredging is one of our traditional core activities, and Boskalis is famous for projects like the land reclamation for Manila International Airport, Pulau Tekong, Singapore’s first polder, or the expansion of the Suez Canal. Creation of new nature areas like the Markerwadden is something we contribute to. In your job, you will work for the dredging division. Boskalis has been protecting coastlines, reclaiming land, and developing infrastructure for over 100 years. That’s a lot of ingenuity, talent, and commitment. When we bring all of this together, we become more than the sum of our parts and can seize opportunities others miss. This is how we collaborate and make the difference together. In our lives, in our work, and in the lives of people across the world.
Within Boskalis, craftsmanship is crucial to our operations. This craftsmanship is supported by our Academies in both the Offshore and Dredging Divisions. Here, we develop specialized learning programs specifically tailored to the knowledge and skills required for the activities of various business units, for all colleagues working worldwide on our ships, in offices, and on offshore and dredging projects.
The Academies work directly together within Boskalis and with the central L&D department. We are driven by craftsmanship, talent development, safety, and quality. We can only deliver a high-quality product if we continue to learn, share, adapt, improve, and change continuously. The principle within Boskalis is workplace learning (70-20-10) supported by expert colleagues, trainers, and digital learning tools such as e-learning and simulators.
In recent years, the Academies have been further developed, and various training and digital learning solutions are already facilitated for different (international) target groups. To strengthen both Academies, we are looking for new colleagues to build further together.
Job Description
You can make a difference by ensuring that our learning programs, teaching methods, and educational materials align well with the needs of our employees for our offshore and dredging projects. As a specialist with an educational background or experience, you will consult with stakeholders to gain a clear understanding of the learning needs in order to define the most suitable learning solution.
You contribute to our professionalization effort by establishing and implementing a recognizable learning process. You do this in close collaboration with colleagues from both Academies. In cooperation with colleagues from the central L&D department, you contribute to policies regarding the use of (digital) learning resources in the most effective way possible, based on current events.
You assist in the development of colleagues, trainers, and specialists through study days, workshops, and intervision meetings, for example. Additionally, you are responsible for designing and developing learning and assessment programs. You write learning plans and gather input from trainers and specialists from the professional field so that the translation can be made into suitable learning solutions.
