The role
The FP&A Manager – Business Process Lead is a business-critical enabler, responsible for driving innovation and continuous improvement across FP&A processes, tooling, and systems. The role leads end-to-end design, delivery, and change management for priority projects that optimize business processes within Financial Planning & Analysis, serving as a cross-functional project leader and subject matter expert for process excellence and transformation.
This role will also play a pivotal role in adapting Lean methodologies to streamline finance processes, enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall financial performance at Booking.com. This position requires a high level of collaboration among FP&A, other finance teams and business units to identify process improvement opportunities and establish a culture of operational excellence.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Lead a team of 3 BPEs and drive end-to-end FP&A business process optimization projects: from opportunity assessment through design, implementation, and change management.Drive the requirements gathering process for new tooling and system enhancements, ensuring user stories and functional documentation are aligned with business needs.
Partner with the FP&A BPO & Transformation Director to develop and refine process standards and target operating models.
Serve as the central point of expertise for process improvement initiatives, including process mapping, risk identification, and solution design.
Collaborate closely with technology teams, system leads, and business stakeholders to ensure projects deliver value and sustainable results.
Facilitate cross-functional working groups, create clear RACI matrices, and establish a strong team culture focused on common goals and quality outcomes.
Solve problems that arise during project execution, ensuring timely countermeasures and mitigations are put in place.
Manage project documentation, ensuring knowledge and learnings are captured and best practices are disseminated.
Lead and support change management activities to ensure business adoption and process sustainability post-implementation.
Monitor project delivery against agreed milestones, focusing on on-time, in-full (OTIF) execution with a high standard of user experience.
Contribute to and coach a culture of continuous improvement using methodologies such as Lean and data flow analysis.
Skills & Knowledge
6+ years professional experience in Finance, with a strong focus on financial planning & analysis, business process transformation, or related project work.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
Lean certifications are highly preferred.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in project management, process design, adaptation of lean into project excellence, and the use of project management tools (e.g. Jira).
Proven track record in leading (cross-functional) teams and managing complex, high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with business partnering, financial reporting, and financial planning cycles is preferred.
Exposure to financial reporting tools (Microstrategy, Power BI) and knowledge of Lean methodologies highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into clear deliverables.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated team player with the ability to foster a ‘one team’ culture.
Proactive in identifying opportunities, solving problems, and driving for results.
High level of business acumen and comfort working across a diverse, multinational organization.
