Your mission
Be part of aviation history at VÆRIDION, where we’re crafting the world’s first electric 9-seater aircraft! As a Design Engineering Intern in the Test Department, you will play a critical role in testing VÆRIDION's integrating the electric propulsion system, encompassing battery packs, power distribution systems, EWIS, inverters, and electric motors. You will be granted a high degree of autonomy in creating mechanical and electrical test setups and fixtures, while receiving support, guidance and knowledge from experienced team members and experts. Your Day-to-Day
- Generate mechanical or mechatronic designs with CAD for test equipment and setups.
- Support the design of test rigs for battery systems, including performance and thermal runaway testing.
- Conduct analysis of mechanical or mechatronic designs using calculation or FEA tools to understand test setup solutions.
- Select suitable components for test setup and instrumentation and interact directly with suppliers.
- Participate hands-on in the setup, execution, and post-processing of tests for battery cell and battery pack performance as well as thermal runaway containment.
- Create tools for test setup analysis and data post-processing.
- Handle ad-hoc projects and assignments with flexibility and innovation.
Your profile
- Studying engineering in mechatronic, aerospace, mechanical, electrical or similar
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in battery systems and testing.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g. Catia, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
- Experience with programming tools (e.g. Matlab, Python, etc.)
- A driven, proactive individual who thrives on challenging assumptions.
- Self-reliant and a strong team collaborator with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English (essential); German or other language skills are a plus.

VÆRIDION is a fast-growing deep tech start-up based in Munich, Germany. Since the restrictions by law on CO2 emissions for domestic and short-haul air travel will stimulate Green Regional Air Mobility, we believe it's our mission to provide an aircraft for Zero emission regional flights.
At VÆRIDION our goal is to develop, build and certify a full electric microliner carrying up to 9 passengers for Short-Haul and Regional Air Mobility by 2030. A full electric microliner is cleaner and cheaper to operate than other aeroplanes in its class, it provides a better travel experience door to door up to 500 km. We offer new optimized design based on proven principles, around proven and available technology in electric motors and batteries, that brings lowest risk and shortest route to certification.
