The role
As a Manufacturing Engineer Structures at Damen Naval, your core objective is to maximize efficiency in the production of structural components. You'll achieve this by meticulously analyzing equipment layout, workflow, and assembly methods. You will determine necessary parts and tools, then plan, design, optimize, and monitor critical manufacturing processes to ensure peak performance.
Key accountabilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide detailed work instructions and manufacturing drawings for production.
- Maintain the Material Take-Off (MTO) and manage raw material orders.
- Independently provide engineering information packages and tool instructions.
- Draw up subcontracting specifications and indicate Quality Checks.
- Control the workflow of structural manufacturing processes.
- Coach colleagues and implement workflow improvements.
Skills & experience
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Professional education (Mbo-4) in Mechanical Engineering with 7-10 years' relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years' relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques, encompassing all production phases.
- Extensive experience in a machining/production environment, preferably shipbuilding.
- Proficiency with production/engineering software (e.g., SAP, 3DX, Teamcenter, Cadmatic/Inventor).
- Good command of English and Dutch (written & verbal).
- Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
