Marine and heavy equipment electrician
Ballast Nedam consists of several organizational units. Ballast Nedam International Projects is one of them and builds large-scale and complex projects worldwide. Ballast Nedam International Projects has a rich international history.
Project Black Rocks on Saba began as a renovation project after hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. The new port will play a crucial role in improving the island's accessibility and supporting economic development.
The existing Fort Bay Harbor will remain the primary cargo port, while Black Rocks Harbor will accommodate all other port users. The separation of cargo and small shipping activities will improve maritime safety, and the new port will become an attractive and tourist-friendly docking point. Additionally, with a view to food security, the new port will provide a resilient alternative docking site for cargo ships in case Fort Bay Harbor is damaged or becomes inaccessible due to the impact of tropical storms or hurricanes. The completion is scheduled for December 2026.
The Project is to design and construct a new port on the south side of Saba, an island in the Caribbean. The scope of the project contains dredging, a rock-breakwater, a concrete deck on piles and civil works on land. It is anticipated to erect a Precast Yard for the project on St Maarten.
