Your day in the office:
Every day is different, but here’s what a typical day as a People & Culture Representative might look like:
00 You kick off your day with a coffee and check your inbox. A few new training requests came in overnight, along with some questions about sick leave. You prioritize and begin taking action right away.
30 A quick alignment with a department manager: they need support preparing for an upcoming performance review cycle. You offer advice, send over the right templates, and schedule a follow-up to ensure everything runs smoothly.
30 Time to review and update one of our P&C policies. You’re working on a new hybrid work guideline that balances employee flexibility with business needs, always keeping our culture and values in mind.
00 Enjoy a lovely buffet lunch and try to master some of the 25+ languages spoken by your colleagues. A quick walk outside will give you new energy for the rest of the day.
00 Back at your desk, you put on your headset with your favorite music and start writing a new employment contract and updating the HR system. You double-check everything: from salary details to benefits, making sure it's ready for payroll processing.
30 You join a meeting with the management team to discuss employee well-being and safety updates. You bring concrete ideas to the table and help turn them into actionable next steps.
30 An employee stops by with a question about a leave request they made. You help them on the spot and update their HR system. At the same time, you note this for a future improvement in our internal communication.
30 You wrap up the day by aligning with the rest of the P&C team. You share updates, flag any urgent matters, and brainstorm ideas to make our processes even more efficient and people-focused.
30 Before heading out, you take five minutes to plan tomorrow. Whether it’s preparing new policy drafts or supporting a team lead with a difficult conversation, you know how to juggle it all and stay organized.
