Platform Ops Engineer - Build
9-12 months FTC
Amsterdam
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage AWS infrastructure components including VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, Security Groups, IAM roles, and NACLs.
- Design and implement cloud networking solutions using Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, VPC Peering, Route 53 for DNS and routing, Elastic Load Balancing (ALB/NLB), API Gateway, CloudFront, Direct Connect, and VPN connections
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD, integrating with Git-based repositories.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Implement monitoring and logging using CloudWatch, ELK Stack, and third-party tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Manage containerized workloads using Docker, Amazon ECS, Fargate, and EKS (Kubernetes).
- Apply DevSecOps principles to enforce security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines, including IAM, WAF, and Security Groups.
- Support incident response and troubleshoot infrastructure and networking issues across distributed environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain distributed platforms handling high volumes of data.
Desired/Preferred Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in DevOps\SRE roles.
- Proven experience in AWS architecture and administration in production environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and security: VPCs, Security Groups, NACLs, IAM roles.
- Expertise in CI/CD using Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or AWS Systems Manager.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and Git-based workflows.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, shell scripting, and core networking protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Experience in building and maintaining distributed platforms and data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture patterns and best practices for data engineering and data science at scale.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Athena, EC2, RDS, EKS, ECS, Fargate, and Load Balancers.
- Experience with AWS monitoring and management services like CloudWatch, X-Ray, Systems Manager.
- Strong troubleshooting and platform-level design skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
