The role
As Senior Technical Author Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) at Damen Naval, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and managing comprehensive technical documentation for our naval ships and systems. Your work will include delivering user manuals, maintenance manuals, test protocols, and business processes, ensuring clarity and accuracy in describing various aspects such as functions, requirements, layout, components, modes, security, and maintenance.
Key accountabilities
As Senior Technical Author Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) your responsibilities include:
Prepare technical documents in a structured framework, adhering to prescribed formats.
Collect and structure technical and logistic information from diverse sources, including texts, drawings, diagrams, lists, specifications, manuals, 3D models, P&IDs, colleagues, and reports.
Create system-level technical documentation based on input from the Engineering team.
Modify illustrations to enhance documentation clarity.
Input information into software systems in compliance with international standards S1000D and S2000M.
Deliver Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP).
Skills & experience
For the vacancy of As Senior Technical Author Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
Bachelor or Master degree in engineering, philology, or a related field.
Professional experience working with Content Management Systems and structured documents using XML/DITA/S1000D.
Knowledge of complex systems and international standards such as S1000D, S2000M, S3000L, and Simplified Technical English (STE).
Ability to efficiently differentiate between primary and secondary issues, ensuring concise and precise writing.
Enthusiastic team player who takes initiative and actively participates in product development.Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
