We are now looking for a
Supplier Quality Inspector
to join our team. The position is permanent and the preferred location for the position is in Kampen, The Netherlands.
As Quality Inspector, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Perform quality analysis at supplier premises.
- Witness production/inspection processes from supplier.
- Collect measurement/quality data into the Quality Data Management System.
- Participate in development of local methods and vendor procedures to improve product quality.
- Check that defined corrective and preventive actions are implemented in operations and procedures.
- Provide impulses for the vendor’s needs of new tools, equipment, or procedures.
- Provide impulses for the improvement of drawings and/or specifications.
- Develop own competences.
- Perform visual inspection if not Wärtsilä design in some cases, other inspections according to standard.
- Identify, report, and escalate issues of quality/safety regarding materials, equipment, or facilities at vendor premises.
- Stop purchasing process in case of severe quality issues.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have/be:
- Technical degree (Engineering) or equivalent through experience in Quality Inspection methods.
- Ability to understand suppliers’ production methods.
- Decisive.
- Result oriented, with problem-solving capacities.
- Service-minded, business and customer focused.
- Wärtsilä product knowledge.
- Team player, willingness to travel on a weekly basis.
- Technical English.
- Situational and cultural understanding.
- Good product knowledge.
- Good technical knowledge.
- Good communication skills.
- 5–10 years of experience in a similar environment.
