About this role
As Team Lead Forecasting at Just Eat Takeaway.com, you will play a pivotal role in driving our global order forecasting strategy. You will lead the charge in ensuring our forecasting models are not only accurate and robust but also transparent and explainable, from model development and testing to ensuring successful implementation and adoption across our global markets at a city level. You'll be instrumental in continuously improving our forecasting capabilities, incorporating feedback on unaccounted events, and ultimately empowering data-driven decision-making throughout the organisation.
Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Amsterdam office & 2 days working from home
Reporting to: Global Manager, Central Finance Analytics
These are some of the key components to the position:
- Own Global Order Forecasting: Lead and take full responsibility for the global order forecasting process, ensuring highly accurate and reliable forecasts.
- Model Development: Drive the creation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of forecasting models, accuracy, robustness, and explainability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with local markets and stakeholders to effectively implement forecasting outputs at a city level and integrate qualitative insights into models.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the integrity and quality of forecasting data, establishing a single source of truth, and implementing best practices for model validation, back-testing, and scenario analysis.
- Insight Generation and Reporting: Utilise advanced analytics to identify trends and patterns, and develop interactive dashboards to provide clear, actionable forecasting insights to stakeholders.
What will you bring to the team?
- Strong working experience in a forecasting or data science role, preferably within a fast-paced digital or e-commerce environment.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, develop, and inspire a team of forecasting specialists.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy.
- Proficiency in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques, specifically applied to time series forecasting.
- Expertise in programming languages commonly used for data analysis and modeling (e.g., Python, R) and proficiency in SQL. Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to support data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex forecasting methodologies and insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. GCP) and modern data infrastructures.
