Join us in our commitment to take healthcare Further, together.As part of the Tax Transformation & Technology Team, this Associate Tax Accountant will work closely within the Medtronic Tax Department to drive the transformation of tax processes through leveraging automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement. You are motivated, a self-starter with a passion for technology and process improvement. You should have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You will have a solid business judgment capable of delivering the right results.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Assist in daily, quarterly, and annual maintenance of tax systems
- Support administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Tax Department SharePoint
- Utilize current technologies to reduce time spent on tax calculations, reduce tax risks, automate tax processes, extract and transform data, and provide visualization tools to management allowing strategic decision making. For example, in the area of “extract, transform, load” (ETL) tools and current tax enabling technologies; e.g., OneSource, CORPTAX, Vertex, Microsoft Power Suite, Alteryx, Snowflake, etc
- Support process improvement projects with cross-functional teams to improve tax processes, applications, analytics, and reporting capabilities
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to stay current on top of tax technical and tax technology developments and effectively apply such knowledge for improvement within the Medtronic Tax department
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or Information Technology with 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Experience with a Big 4 firm or multinational corporations with tax technical or tax transformation experience preferred
- Experience using tax technologies such as CORPTAX or OneSource
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint), SQL and Microsoft Power Platform
- Advanced degree in taxation or software technologies
