The Corporate Communications team manages our company brand, reputation and messages that flow to our employees and the outside world. As a communications intern, you will be an integral part of the Corporate Communications team in Europe, working on challenging projects and helping to create compelling content that keeps audiences informed and engaged. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and participate in projects and initiatives primarily related to internal/employee communications, with the potential to support other Corporate Communications projects and initiatives related to social media, public relations, stryker.com, company events, etc.
YOUR MISSION:
- Develop and/or implement strategic communications plans
- Manage internal communications channels (intranet, newsletters, etc.) and editorial calendars
- Find, research and write stories about our company, our employees and our culture for our global company intranet and other communications channels
- Proofread and edit various internal communications for spelling, grammar, consistency with our brand, editorial style and usage guides, and best practices for communication
- Maintain and update communications materials
- Collaborate and lead within small-to-midsize projects and initiatives within the broader Corporate Communications team
You consider yourself as creative and journalistic, and you’re comfortable working with digital platforms (Point, etc.).
You’re comfortable with leading meetings and communicating with groups of people. You’re also able to analyze situations and audiences and use independent judgment.
You can prioritize work and keep detailed, accurate and confidential information and records.
YOUR PROFILE:
You’re pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in international communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
You are able to manage time, priorities and occasional conflict.
Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to work efficiently in a team.
You also have project management skills.
You can multitask, work under deadline, and bring tasks through to completion.
You are curious and also autonomous which makes you work responsibly.
You have strong writing and editing skills (samples of your writing will be requested); knowledge of AP Style is a plus.
You have an advanced experience with MS office and an experience with Adobe Creative Suite are a plus.
Fluent English language skills are required.
To be eligible, interns need to be fully enrolled as students in their universities for the duration of the internship.
Travel will be limited; 0-5% of time.
