Job Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment. This role ensures the kitchen and dishwashing areas are clean, safe, and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand as needed.
- Load, run, and unload dishwashing machines.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, kitchen, and equipment.
- Organize clean dishes and kitchen tools in appropriate storage areas.
- Remove trash and recycling; clean garbage cans and kitchen floors.
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep or other tasks as requested.
- Report any maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Work Environment:
- Typically works in a commercial kitchen setting.
