- People Leadership & Development: You will be responsible for the direct line management, coaching, and career development of our 6 Product Managers. This includes fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and psychologically safe team culture that champions excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, overseeing performance, and leading the recruitment and retention of top talent to build a thriving product organisation.
- Product Best Practice Ownership and Optimisation: Drive continuous improvement in product management practices and methodologies across the Experience domain. This includes establishing and maintaining consistent ways of working, optimising product tooling and reporting mechanisms, leading the contribution of your product teams to Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and defining how we improve the quality of our discoveries and our time-to-insight. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency in how your product teams operate.
- Product Discovery: Lead and evolve the Product Discovery framework, defining approaches, techniques and cross-functional roles. Ensure consistent and effective discovery practices across all product teams, enabling continuous learning and opportunity identification across the Experience domain. This includes ensuring discovery efforts specifically address the nuances and opportunities within our web, mobile app, and desktop app ecosystems. Guide Product Managers leading discoveries, ensuring clear objectives, well-defined problem spaces, and effective workshop facilitation. Drive the translation of insights into actionable recommendations and shared solutions across the product teams.
- Strategic Leadership and Vision Setting: Support the Product Director in refining the short-mid term product strategy, and own the definition and execution of the in-year roadmap aligned with company goals and market opportunities, with a clear understanding of how these strategies translate into optimal experiences across web, mobile app, and desktop app. Guide and empower your team of Product Managers, working with their cross-functional teams, to contribute effectively to strategy development and to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer discovery to identify emerging trends and unmet needs.
- Leadership and Influence: Effectively influence at all levels of the organisation, presenting clear, data-driven business cases and recommendations with strong storytelling abilities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrate exemplary collaboration skills, partnering effectively with teams and across disciplines and functions to ensure alignment on product goals, priorities, and discovery outcomes. Act as a key liaison between your product teams and broader stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Execution & Delivery: Oversee and guide your teams to translate the product vision into opportunity themes for discovery and ultimately into initiatives for delivery, ensuring high-quality execution and impactful outcomes.
- Success Metrics: Establish a framework to ensure all teams are regularly monitoring product success metrics, creating feedback loops to support data-driven decision-making across teams, with a clear understanding of platform-specific metrics and the ability to analyse and interpret data related to user engagement and performance on web, mobile app, and desktop app.
Experience & Attributes We'd Like To See:
- Proven People Leadership, Coaching & Mentoring Experience: Solid experience in direct line management of Product Managers, including performance management, career development, and providing effective coaching and mentoring in product best practices
- Extensive Product Management & Leadership Experience: Ideally with a vast amount of progressive product management experience, and experience in a direct line management role, specifically managing Product Managers. Demonstrable experience in managing and optimising products across multiple devices (web, mobile app, desktop app).
- Deep Expertise in Product Discovery: Proven track record of leading and implementing various product discovery methodologies (e.g., Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs to be Done). This should include practical experience in user research, market analysis, experimentation, and data analysis to identify opportunities and validate assumptions, and experience coaching and scaling these methodologies across a team.
- Strategic Leadership and Vision Setting: Experience in leading and driving product strategy and vision at a functional or domain level, with a proven ability to develop and articulate a compelling vision for multi-platform experiences, including full ownership of the annual product strategy for their domain.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence: Proven ability to effectively collaborate and build strong relationships with engineering, design, analytics, marketing, and commercial teams. Experience leading and guiding complex cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across multiple teams.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills and experience in defining and utilising and making widely available the key product metrics to inform decisions, measure success, and identify areas for improvement, including experience with mobile app analytics and performance monitoring.
- Framework Development and Implementation: Experience in designing, implementing, and iterating on product processes and frameworks.
Nice To Have Experience
- Experience in a B2C ecommerce environment with a strong understanding of user acquisition and conversion optimisation across web and mobile app.
- Experience working with both physical and digital products, including an understanding of their integrated user experiences.
- Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Adobe Analytic, Looker, Hotjar etc.
