DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our HSE Department in Dordrecht, The Netherlands
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Enhancing workplace safety: You'll help identify and close gaps in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, ensuring compliance with both corporate and local regulations.
- Driving a safety-first culture: By embedding HSE values into daily operations and training, you'll foster a proactive and interdependent safety culture across the site.
- Supporting incident prevention and response: Your involvement in hazard identification, risk assessments, and emergency response training will help prevent incidents and ensure readiness when they occur.
- Improving operational efficiency: Through trend analysis and corrective action tracking, you'll contribute to continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
- Strengthening compliance and documentation: You'll maintain accurate records and uphold data protection standards, supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
- Empowering teams through communication: By clearly communicating HSE expectations and updates, you'll raise awareness and encourage accountability at all levels.
- Contributing to environmental stewardship: Your coordination of environmental management activities will support sustainability goals and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborating for quality and innovation: By working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and employee engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards: A solid understanding of Dutch Health & Safety legislation (Arbowet), as well as international standards like ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, is essential to ensure compliance and alignment across the Benelux sites.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills: You’ll be managing HSE activities across two sites and service operations, which includes maintaining legal registers, documentation, and coordinating statutory inspections and training.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities: You’ll need to deliver training, lead incident investigations, support risk assessments, and engage with field technicians and service teams—requiring clear, confident, and adaptable communication.
- A proactive, analytical, and resilient mindset: Success in this role depends on your ability to identify risks, analyze trends, respond to incidents, and continuously improve processes while staying composed and resourceful in challenging situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- A two year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related field required.
- Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and experience in health, safety, environment or related field.
