About the role
As an Insurance Compliance Specialist in our Compliance Team, you will assist in establishing and maintaining the overview of overarching and local legislation in the EMEA region, including the UK.
You will be involved in the compliance aspects of the customer journey and assist in the ongoing compliance monitoring of Partners’ websites. You will also play an important role in the annual due diligence program on our Partners. Also expect regular ad-hoc requests from colleagues across the organisation which makes the role interesting and diverse.
To drive success in this role, you will have an aptitude for learning and implementing and maintaining compliance frameworks. You will support the regional compliance director in maintaining the company’s compliance programs and ensure that the insurance business has adequate controls, procedures, and processes in place to comply with all laws, regulations, and codes applicable to the sale of insurance and related products. Regular cross-functional collaboration will be key in ensuring that the Company’s adherence to its risk appetite and guidelines are achieved to drive scalable processes which limit risk exposure to the Company.
What will your day look like? You will...
- Establish and maintain overview of local regulatory changes in the EEA and assist in implementation of required changes
- Support the global compliance team with compliance requests including due diligence questionnaires, management of the Incident reporting process, delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan and regulatory filings
- Facilitate responses to periodic and ad hoc regulatory requests
- Support periodic reviews to proactively identify compliance gaps and assist with implementation of corrective action
- Assist with the establishment and maintenance of the Compliance processes and procedures including coordinating timely communications with internal and external stakeholders.
To help us level up, you'll ideally have:
- 3+ years experience in a compliance role within the insurance industry or regulator
- A Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field
- Good knowledge and understanding of Dutch and EU insurance law (Wft, IDD) and local EU law
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing, and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Experience with identification, assessment, and frameworks for compliance risks
- Ability to adapt quickly to a scale-up pace environment and culture
