About the assignment
MR MARVIS is looking for an experienced Interim Head of People (24–40 hours per week, depending on availability) starting ideally in September.
In this role you will lead our People team and ensure continuity during an exciting period of growth. Over the course of at least 3-4 months, you’ll guide strategic HR projects, help keeping operations running smoothly, and support impactful people initiatives across our headquarters and 19 retail stores.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine operational excellence with strategic vision, working closely with our leadership team and making a real impact in a dynamic, international environment.
This position is based at our headquarters in Amsterdam, near the Amstel Hotel. As this is a leadership role, we prefer the interim to be on-site most of the time, though some hybrid work is possible.

What you'll do
During this assignment, you will guide and inspire our People team, covering HR, Talent Acquisition, and Office operations. You will keep daily HR operations running seamlessly during a period of change, maintaining high standards and embodying MR MARVIS’s culture.
Key Projects
Oversee Global Payroll: Support the roll-out of global payroll initiatives, including managing transitions as needed.
International Expansion: Set up and manage HR processes for new markets, collaborating with both local partners and internal stakeholders.
Run the Year-End Performance Review: Oversee our performance review process and ensure smooth integration of our new Growth Framework.
Be a Trusted Advisor: Partner with the Management Team on complex HR matters, offering both strategic guidance and practical solutions.
What you'll bring
8+ years of HR experience, including leadership roles
University degree, preferably in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in fast-scaling international environments (retail sector and 300+ employees is a plus)
Strong analytical mindset , with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Hands-on experience with: (global) payroll & HRIS implementation and performance review management is considered a strong plus
Fluent in English and Dutch (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
Empathetic, approachable, and decisive leadership style
