Global Distribution Hub EMEA
The Global Distribution Hub EMEA department is responsible for managing the distribution to manufacturing locations all over the globe from EMEA and end customers in the EMEA region via a network of LSPs, TSPs and Amgen owned warehouses.
Internship project description – Cost Management in Distribution
We are looking for a student for a project that is aimed at harnessing the power of our available invoice and activity data to help manage the cost.
This project will entail analyzing cost and cost driver data of our distribution network in EMEA to find anomalies, standardize process and create meaningful insights to optimize cost. You will compare the costs associated with various activity drivers between contracted entities in the EMEA Distribution network. It will involve a detailed examination of the factors that influence costs and how they vary across different activities. The comparison will help in understanding the cost structure and identifying areas for potential savings. Based on the trends, you will be able to give a reliable estimate of future cost as input to budgeting.
To visualize your findings, you will create dashboards that provide a clear and concise view of the cost metrics, enabling better decision-making and tracking of cost optimization efforts. These dashboards will be used by the logistics management team monthly to oversee the entities operating in Amgen EMEA distribution network. In addition, it will be used to predict future costs and setting budget targets to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
The internship is based at Amgen Breda.

- Be a pre-final or a final year student, from both bachelor’s and master’s studies in Supply Chain/Data sciences
- Have proficiency in English (both verbal and written. Dutch is a plus).
