Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Cost Accountant / Analyst to join our European Controlling team based at our head office in The Netherlands reporting to the Assistant Principal Controller & SOX This role will be responsible for LGM-EMENA controllership, utilizing accurate financial data to include inventory valuation, inventory reserves, establishing cost prices/checking correctness of Bill of Materials as well as providing analytical insights in drivers for change. In this role, you will also support the team to complete regulatory reports, analyses and governance aspects. This is a very exciting development opportunity for the right candidate who is willing to learn and grow on the job through practical exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly cost price updates
Costing of new products during the month
Inventory reserve calculations both on a weekly and monthly basis
Inventory reconciliation to General Ledger (Oracle Financials)
Overseeing inventory controls
Liaising with our external auditor on inventory valuation aspects and revenue recognition testing
Item Master/Bill-of-Material reviews resulting from observations
Regulatory reporting such as Central Bureau of Statistics and (Plastic) Packaging Tax
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
0-3 years of relevant work experience
Skills
Good analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Skilled in proficiently using computers and related software in performing financial job tasks, specifically setting up spreadsheet formulas, linking spreadsheets, extracting data, developing graphs.
Basic knowledge of internal controls / compliance
Strong attention to detail and good communication and relationship skills
Knowledge of research methodologies. Ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and present complex financial and statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.
Process oriented / process improvement and self-managed
Ability to design, develop, and maintain tables, formulas, graphs, and macros in Google or similar program as well as set up tables, queries, and reports for accurate analysis
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google apps, BI tools and function specific software and capability to leverage these.
Skill in communicating complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, and making presentations to large groups. Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.
High level of dedication to teamwork in a high performance environment.
