Officer - Finance department - Aruba Bank
General Purpose:
The Finance Officer will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire Accounts Payable cycle of the Bank, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable process. The primary responsibility of the Accounts Payable Officer is to ensure that all invoices are accurately recorded, processed, and paid in a timely manner while adhering to the Bank’s policies and procedures. The officer will also oversee the review and payment of business travel declarations. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the team and internal stakeholders.
Position Highlights:
- Oversee the entire accounts payable cycle, including the receipt, verification, and processing of invoices and expense reports.
- Review all incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual terms, and processing of invoices and payments in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in all activities.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records.
- Maintain accurate vendor master data, including banking details and tax information.
- Prepare and post journals.
- Investigate discrepancies, resolve queries with vendors, resolve issues efficiently and professionally, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals.
- Work closely with various departments to streamline the accounts payable process, ensuring a clear understanding of policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the preparation of the tax regulatory requirement “Verzamelstaat Opgaaf Derden”.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and/ or accounting.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably strong knowledge of Accounts Payable.
- Ability to apply accounting principles and practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Exact software).
- Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, and a proactive mentality.
- Team player and good collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
