POSITION OF THE DEPARTMENT WITHIN ORGANISATION
The General Agency Department (GAD) manages all vessels handled by CrossOcean/Cosco Shipping.
GAD maintains close contact with principals (ship owners/charters), other agents, port authorities, vendors, suppliers and all operational departments within the company.
CONTEXT AND AIM OF JOB POSITION
The operator is employed by GAD and works partly independently under the responsibility of the GAD Manager.
ACTIVITIES / GOALS
- General handling of ships in all Dutch ports.
- Handling of ships and cargo according to the wishes of clients and captains
- Preparing ship files according to long-term planning
- Updating the various computer systems with arrival/departure information
- Processing of spare parts
- Handling claims
- Informs ship owners, supervisors and captains in case of damage
- Informs P&I club in case of damage
- Coordinating the repair of the damage with the vessel and the terminal
- Handling crew changes
- Arranging payments to third parties under the responsibility of the GAD Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- MBO thinking and working level
- Knowledge of the shipping industry
- Working experience at an agency department is a preference
- Knowledge of port operations, IMO regulations

- To be prepared working after office hours, in a schedule with other colleagues of the department
