As a Patent Attorney at VMI, you will be responsible for managing our global patent portfolio, advising management on IP related matters and playing an active role in IP enforcement.
VMI has a significant IP portfolio, including a portfolio of over 160 patent families, and actively pursues a policy of strengthening and defending its IP rights. To reinforce our IP department, we are looking for a Patent Attorney.
As a Patent Attorney, you are part of the IP team that handles, protects and defends the intellectual property rights of VMI. Your responsibilities will include:
- Interacting with our R&D Managers and engineers to determine IP opportunities, establish patents rights and assess potential patent risks;
- Visiting the machines as they are being developed, assembled and tested;
- Raising IP awareness within the organization;
- Managing our patent portfolio in collaboration with our external patent law firms;
- Determine and mitigate risks posed by third party patents and contribute to other IP litigation activities;
- Providing legally competent, informed and relevant advice and guidance on IP related matters.
You will be part of a dynamic team consisting of several Patent Engineers and administrative support members. You will report to the Director IP.
We work closely with our external patent law firms to strengthen and defend our IP rights.
- You are a qualified European Patent Attorney in the field of mechanical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience, ideally with experience working in the industry;
- You have strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Wanneer onze ambities overeenkomen en we een wederzijdse match zien, ontvang je van ons een arbeidsvoorwaardelijk voorstel.
