Your mission
As a Pre-Sales Engineer at The Storytelling Company, you will be the technical bridge between our commercial teams and our clients. You’ll play a vital role in shaping installation projects—engineering smart solutions, calculating costs, and ensuring smooth order processing from concept to execution.
Working closely with Sales Management, you’ll contribute to shaping proposals that bring our creative and technical ambitions to life. Your insights will help our account teams deliver on promises and exceed expectations. Whether it’s drafting precise offers, supporting sales visits, or making sure our CRM is always up to date, your work ensures we move forward with clarity and confidence.
You’ll also be part of our marketing heartbeat—joining events, contributing to open days, and supporting campaigns that make our capabilities shine. This is a role where technical precision meets creative collaboration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the sales process with technical insight and solution design, by engaging directly with customers to understand their needs, build trust, and help shape account nurturing.
- Engineer and calculate technical solutions for installation projects.
- Create tailored proposals and quotations.
- Prepare and process orders from start to finish, with a clear handover to the project team.
- Collaborate with Sales Managers on client visits to provide technical expertise.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system.
- Support marketing and sales events—like trade shows and open days—by bringing your technical know-how into the spotlight.
- Engage with internal teams across departments to ensure seamless project execution.
- Represent The Storytelling Company in external contacts with professionalism and technical authority.
Your profile
- MBO-level education or higher, with a strong foundation in technical engineering or a related field.
- Strong familiarity with AV schematic software (eg Microsoft Visio, Vectorworks, ConnectCAD) and CRM Software (eg AFAS, SAP).
- Experience in AV technology, audio engineering, LED systems, or simulation environments is a strong advantage—especially where it intersects with storytelling, immersive experiences, or creative technology.
- A proactive approach to learning—whether through courses, conferences, or professional reading.
- Comfortable working independently while aligned with broader commercial strategies.
- Skilled in both verbal and written communication—clear, structured, and persuasive.
- A team player with strong social skills, tact, and the ability to listen and advise with impact.
- Motivated, stress-resilient, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a big plus.
