We are proud of the impact we make together across Europe, local as well as international. With over 2500 colleagues, we work on seamlessly integrated print, digital and blended learning solutions to help teachers and schools develop the talents of every child. Our people are passionate and committed and always willing to go the extra mile for students, teachers, schools, our shareholders and each other.
We are looking for:
Product Manager of AI Solutions & Competence Lead
Digitization was only the beginning – AI is now rewriting how the world learns. At Sanoma Learning we are harnessing generative AI and advanced analytics to personalize study paths, lighten teachers’ workload, and inspire every learner. If you have already shipped AI-powered features – or you can’t stop experimenting with them after hours – you might be the Product Manager we’re looking for.
Your key responsibilities
Shape and communicate the product vision for customer facing applications in line with Sanoma Learning’s AI strategy.
Own and refine the Product Backlog: slice Epics into Features and Stories, validate acceptance criteria, and keep priorities transparent to business and engineering.
Coordinate product releases and dependencies across multiple teams, ensuring quality and continuity.
Prepare and facilitate sprint plannings, reviews, and retrospectives within a Scrum environment.
Champion data-driven decisions – leverage usage analytics and user research to maximize learning outcomes and business value.
Safeguard ethical AI and data privacy – keeping learner trust at the center of everything we ship.
What we expect from you
3–5 years in Product Management or a comparable role (e.g., Product Owner, Business Analyst).
Proven track record with Agile practices – preferably Scrum.
Demonstrated problem-solving and project management prowess – you turn ambiguity into clear, actionable stories.
Excellent communicator in spoken and written English – able to translate complexity for technical and nontechnical audiences.
AI experience or passion – whether you have launched ML-backed features, completed AI courses, or built side projects, show us your curiosity and drive.
Bonus points
Hands-on work with large language models (LLMs,) APIs, recommendation engines, or adaptive testing engines.
Familiarity with A/B testing and evidence-based product optimization.
Previous experience in edtech or mission critical B2C platforms.
Personal Attributes:
Data-driven decision-making approach
Proactive and positive “can-do” attitude, demonstrating initiative and resilience.
Strong organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Self-motivated, consistently seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
As a Product Management Competence Lead:
Competence Development: Responsible for Product Management competence development and knowledge sharing within competence group members.
People Management: Manage the people within the Product Management competence group, including hiring, firing, and performance evaluations.
Professional Standards: Support the Product Management Competence Owner in defining professional standards and work methodology within the Product Management competence.
Problem Solving: Participate in solving complex problems within the Product Management competence, with mandate and decision rights on the “how.”
Coaching: Coach team members to learn and grow, encouraging and supporting career development within Sanoma Learning.
Knowledge Sharing: Assist in setting up interaction and knowledge sharing processes among Product Management competence group members in different teams and across domains.
Thought Leadership: Act as a thought leader within product management to guide, motivate, and inspire competence group members.
