Within the AOC R&D department in Zwolle we are looking for a new colleague. We are strengthening our innovation efforts in customer and manufacturing support and strategic fields like Styrene-free, ‘green’ (recycled and/or bio) and carbon fiber composites.
We currently have a vacancy for an associate scientist in our synthesis laboratory. As R&D associate scientist you will work in international and multi-disciplinary teams. You perform and/ or support resin synthesis both in laboratory and at pilot scale in support of manufacturing, technical service and/ or new product development.
Description
- Synthesize, formulate and test newly developed resins
- Support manufacturing with solving synthesis and process issues, including arrangement of the required analytical tests
- Support in solving customer related issues
- Participate in product/ technology development projects in close contact with R&D and business management
- Maintain and operate specialized laboratory equipment. Keep equipment and other utilities in good condition
- Take care of laboratory logistics and housekeeping
- Regular reporting and good project administration
- Comply fully to responsibilities and authorities on safety and quality
We Look For
- (Polymer) Chemist: B.Sc. with at least 3 years of working experience in industrial composite/ polymer research
- Required knowledge: polyester synthesis and upscaling
- Service oriented attitude with the drive to deliver on time
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Pro-active attitude and hands-on mentality
