Tasks and responsibilities:
· Supporting the execution of the Sustainability Strategy both on an analytical and practical level.
· Leading our decarbonization roadmap in line with our Science Based Targets.
· Ensuring that leading practices that support sustainable outcomes towards decarbonization, renewable energy, biodiversity, circular economy and responsible sourcing objectives are embedded in our working methods.
· Contributing to strategy development and translating objectives into operational tasks and procedures.
· Being responsible for managing the external environmental compliance audit process of our production facilities (including factory self-assessment and verification, analyzing results and remediation).
· Assisting in designing, preparing, implementing, and maintaining our environmental strategy and project plan.
· Coordinating and verifying the work progress as per the relevant environmental theme (e.g., energy, water, waste).
· Determining the root cause of environment issues and plan for appropriate actions to overcome the risks.
· Conducting environmental risks assessment including finding out potential environmental risks and design mitigation plan.
· Coordinating the annual corporate carbon footprint.
· Report on business progress and performance towards sustainability targets and create initiatives for further execution of sustainability strategy.
· Coordinate the cooperation with third parties (multi-stakeholder organizations, consultancy firms, government organizations) on implementation and execution of sustainability projects.
· Delivering on external sustainability reporting requirements.
Our ideal candidate:
· Has a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Environmental research, Environmental protection or similar and about 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
· Has experience with project management.
· Needs to have good knowledge of updated research methods, concepts and state environment.
· Needs to have a strong understanding about Science-Based Targets Initiative and Scope 1,2,3 based on GHG Protocol.
· Needs to have general knowledge about the upcoming EU sustainability legislation (CSRD, CSDDD, RPP etc.)
· Has strong Microsoft Excel skills.
· Demonstrates knowledge of sustainability in the textile supply chain or related industry or related sustainability experience.
· Has proficient knowledge of required environmental statutory assets, environmental requirements and environmental legislations.
· Has analytical skills, hands-on mentality and is results oriented.
· Is fluent in English and mastering Dutch is a pre but not mandatory.
· Knowledge of chemical management operations and procedures preferred.
