We are looking for a motivated, self-managed Proficient Backend Engineer with strong software design and Java development skills, and a drive for continuous improvement, to strengthen the Cards landscape and quality of services offered to our end customers.

The Team:
You will be working within the Cards domain. The department operates in a DevOps manner, where Scrum/Agile and Continuous Delivery practices are very important. As a Dev Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, code, build, test and deployment of new features.You will be working within the Tribe Payments and more specifically the Cards area that builds and maintains customer journeys to facilitate the lifecycle of cards.
How to Succeed:
- You are a driven IT specialist with excellent analytical, technical and programming skills.
- 8+ years of experience building applications with Java
- Passionate about code quality.
- You have experience in both conceptual/architectural understanding.
- Experienced with continuous delivery tooling and mindset.
- You are substantively strong, results-driven, and a true team player. You can coach colleagues and give them constructive feedback.
- You have a good understanding of customer needs.

Your key competencies: excellent team player, persistent, service-oriented, customer-centric, and eager to learn.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent
Technology, tools and process knowledge
- Strong programming skills in Java and frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Data, and JPA/Hibernate.
- Working knowledge on designing and building Rest APIs
- Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (Cassandra exp. is a plus)
- Good knowledge of TDD (Test Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior Driven Development)
- Knowledge of messaging middleware such as Kafka and MQ
- ELK stack
- GIT/GitLab/GitLab-CI, Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins
- Azure DevOps
- Kubernetes, Openshift, and Cloud Solutions (Azure preferably)
- Good knowledge of risk and security measures
- Passionate about code quality
- Experience with Agile / Scrum
- Good social and communication skills
