Job's mission
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ASM, you’ll drive the design and development of complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic modules for our advanced semiconductor equipment. Your work will bridge R&D innovation and customer-focused solutions, collaborating across departments to shape future technologies. This role is ideal for hands-on problem solvers who thrive in fast-paced, technically demanding environments.
Key responsibilities

Design cost-effective mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components aligned with product and manufacturing requirements.

Lead engineering activities that meet R&D and customer-driven objectives.

Analyze design specifications and supplier quotes for semiconductor capital equipment.

Deliver high-quality documentation that supports delivery, cost, and performance goals.

Provide cross-functional support to Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, including international travel when needed.

Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Advise on design improvements for performance and cost efficiency.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Green Belt).
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

4+ years (Master’s) or 8+ years (Bachelor’s) in mechanical design in high-tech or semiconductor industry.

Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Inventor, Teamcenter).

Experience in module design and robotics.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with FEM tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).

Excellent communication skills in English.

Willingness to travel occasionally for business.

Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
