Job Description
This position supports planning for very significant revenue streams as well as very complex supply planning networks which are critical to AbbVie’s top line revenue goals and strategic imperatives. Key to the role will be the leadership of a team of planners responsible for coordination all aspects of supply, providing long range plans as well as supply scenarios, supporting monthly S&OP cycle and input to LRP and annual plan. Additionally, the team manages significant cash flow and inventory balances against predefined financial targets.
Responsible to develop and execute effective supply plans including planning for product launches, LOE and site transfers as required while meeting assurance of supply objectives for current phase of product lifecycle and managing complexity of the regulatory changes/post approval changes in alignment with Brand and other stakeholders. Ensure that supply constraints are recognised, and priorities are managed and aligned from a supply perspective. Represent Global Supply Planning in achieving cross functional alignment with Commercial, ME&C, Brand, Demand, Distribution and Logistics as well as Finance organization as needed. The key objective is to ensure continuity of supply for our patients while balancing service, cost and responsiveness, balancing demand and supply and aligning plans to business objectives.
This role is also responsible for the development of their team members, empowering them to excel in their roles with a focus on cultivating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership to a team of planners who perform complex, multi-level network planning, ensuring continuity of supply while balancing ME&C plan requirements and supporting revenue, inventory and cash flow targets as part of a complex network.
- Primary interface to ME&C in relation to supply requirements. Develop relationships and work collaboratively with ME&C to develop robust planning and supply strategies helping maximize business results while adhering to service, inventory and cash targets.
- Develop and deploy inventory strategies collaboratively with stakeholders including Finance, Commercial, Brand, ME&C. Ensure planning processes support adherence to inventory policies and objectives.
- Actively drive understanding within Global Supply Planning of the brand landscape, including market dynamics, regulatory environment, life cycle strategy and ensure these are built into and correctly accounted for in both long-term and short-term supply plans.
- Actively support and participate in cost reduction and network strategy as well as transfer management for the ME&C products planned.
- Improve supply planning process robustness and implement best practices aligned with global principles. Champion and drive use of and understanding of corporate tools in the planning process.
- Anticipate and elevate issues that threaten assurance of supply. Work with AbbVie cross-functional teams to define and implement mitigations plans.
- Member of the Global Supply Planning leadership team/extended leadership team supporting and assisting with supply strategy development and deployment. Lead initiatives if requested.
- Present to senior leaders, articulating a clear story and anticipating questions/concerns. Consistently demonstrates executive presence.
- Develop high performing planning team and provide mentoring and guidance to team members as well as timely and specific performance feedback related to business objectives and AbbVie ways of working.
Qualifications
- Bachelors required, Master level preferred in Operations, Supply Chain or Business Management.
- MBA or APICS certification - desired
- 8 years’ experience in Operations, Supply Chain Management and/ or Financial Management with people management experience

Hands-on experience applying lean manufacturing, 6-Sigma, and advanced planning and control
methods - Excellent leadership and people management/development skills are required
- Proven capability to manage and implement change management programs

Ability to interact successfully in a divers global environment and with senior level
management to effectively influence and manage change - Must have excellent communication skills
