Contract Duration
Visiting Professionals are required to work full time for a period of one to six months. Candidates are invited to specify their exact availability in their application.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of requests for judicial assistance on behalf of International Cooperation Adviser, in conformity with relevant procedures and standards;
- Ensuring compliance with requirements of the requested State or relevant organisation;
- Updating of judicial assistance database to track compliance and enable timely follow-up;
- Supporting Unified teams with incoming requests for assistance;
- Take minutes and preparing summaries of relevant meetings about judicial cooperation;
- Participate with team members in relevant internal meetings;
- drafting of reports, papers, and other written documentation and information products;
- Conduct other background / independent research on topics of relevance for general cooperation;
- Perform any other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Education:
All Candidates must have a degree in Law, International Law, Political Science or a related field from a recognised university. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance. A completed Master’s degree in Public International Law, International Criminal Law, Human Rights, Political Science or a related field will be considered an asset.
Experience:
Visiting Professional placements focus on candidates who have extensive experience in their professional careers in relevant fields of work. Practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court may be considered an asset. Candidates for a Visiting Professional placement must have at least 3 (three) years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong drafting skills and ability to perform research from open sources to produce quality analytical summaries and commentary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and engage with individuals from various units and offices.
- Able to adapt to multicultural and multilingual working environments.
- Possesses knowledge of the mandate of the ICC and its priorities, particularly in relation to the Office of the Prosecutor’s engagement with civil society, complementarity programmes and multilateral engagement.
- Ability to deliver within set deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment.
- Good standard of computer skills (including Microsoft Office applications).
Knowledge of Languages:
Proficiency in English is required for this position. Working knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration
Please note that internship and visiting professional placements at the ICC are unfunded. The ICC is not able to provide participants in the Internship and Visiting Professional Programme with any remuneration, nor is it possible to provide reimbursement for expenses incurred prior, during or after the internship or visiting professional placement.
Applicants must therefore be able to support themselves for the entire duration of their internship or visiting professional placement.
