YOUR TEAM
Within the The Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, the "Facilities" service is responsible for the provision of soft and hard facility management and physical security services.
YOUR ROLE
Your role will be to:
- Coordinate and schedule work by external contractors, including handling access requirements (e.g., special access, registration, badge provision).
- Monitor the performance of service providers against contract specifications, address deficiencies and request remedial actions as needed, while reporting on execution and escalating unresolved issues with recommendations for corrective measures.
- Perform regular inspections to identify the need for repairs, renovations, or improvements to maintain facilities and consoles in good condition and ensure they are safe and well-functioning.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance work on the building, and on consoles in both operational (OPS) and test/training room (TTR).
- Modify (mounting screens, replacing panels, ….) consoles and other technical equipment in various materials as required.
- Request and compare quotes for goods and services to secure maximum value for money.
- Take responsibility for interventions as per the Health and Safety Policy including issuing work permits, promoting the use of sustainable materials and ensuring safe procedures when working near or on asbestos-containing materials.
- Act as the first point of contact for external service providers working on-site, facilitating communication and facilitate problem solving. Liaise with other teams or staff members as required.
- Assist with the drafting of technical or administrative working documents (e.g. procedures), reports, presentations, etc.
- Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Post secondary education and/or secondary education giving access to post-secondary education, and relevant professional experience of at least 3 years.
- The following certificates would be considered an advantage when applying and/or will need to be obtained by the end of the probation period:
- Certification VCAVOL*
- Certification to operate a cherry picker
- Certifications required for the Netherlands and Belgium - to be obtained by end of the probation period.

- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in metal work, carpentry, painting and other workshop related skills.
- Experience in building inspection & maintenance (roofs, security lines, fire compartments, liquid-proof floors, …).
- Experience in working with workshop equipment (e.g. lathe, welding machine, saws, spray cabin, …).
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and environmental responsibilities including asbestos and Chromium-6 removal.
- Knowledge of Maintenance Management systems (e.g., Ultimo).
- Technical writing skills (English).
- Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.

- The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English and Dutch at level C1 or C2.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

- The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of 5 Year(s) in accordance with the provisions of the Staff Regulations governing officials at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract.
- The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine (9) months before being established in the post.

If selected, the person will keep their current type of appointment duration (undetermined or determined).
The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. - The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
- Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
