A day at MKS:
We are recruiting our future Finance Controller for our company MKS ATOTECH based in De Meern (hybrid mode) to work with multiple entities (in particular the dutch and french business units) for the corporate finance control team. In this role, you will work under the management of the Head of Finance (North/South Europe).
You will make an impact by:
Month end closing
- Drive month-end and quarter-end closings in collaboration with the Shared Service Centre, reviewing journal entries, sub-ledger reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
- Prepare and present accurate P&L, balance sheet for each country, including variance analysis versus budget and forecast.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Support FP&A team in preparing monthly/quarterly costs forecast
- Close coordination with Shared Services team to ensure quality of data
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles for Netherlands and France, partnering with Head of Finance, local business partners and coordination with Central teams.
- Lead monthly Sales forecasting with business managers and EU FP&A team
Internal Control & Compliance
- Design, implement and monitor country-specific internal control frameworks, ensuring all Shared Service Centre outputs (AP, AR, GL) comply with local regulations and Group policies.
- Coordinate statutory audit processes: prepare audit schedules, liaise with external auditors and drive remediation of audit findings.
- Ensure tax filings, social contributions and statutory accounts are delivered accurately and on time, working with local service providers and consultants
Business Partnering
- Act as trusted adviser to country managers, providing financial insights to support cost control, pricing decisions and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR, Legal and Operations to support them with data for effective decision making.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Identify and implement process enhancements, automation opportunities and best practices in coordination with the Shared Service Centre and Group Finance.
- Act as one point of contact between Shared Services team and local management and drive improvements and efficiencies
Your profile:
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in controlling or financial leadership, ideally covering multiple countries (Netherlands, France).
- Fluency in English and French; professional proficiency in Dutch is a plus
- Technical knowledge of Dutch GAAP, French accounting standards and IFRS.
- Experience with Netherlands Holding companies and Dutch Chamber of Commerce, Central Bureau of Statistics and Dutch National Bank
- Proven track record working with centralised finance functions (SSC), ensuring robust control over AP, AR and GL outputs.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and consolidation.
- Experience in Project Management is key
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills and MS Office (Word and Powerpoint)
- Working knowledge of SAP, HFM and BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity/experience with financial consolidation and Group reporting packages.
