Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnering:
o Act as the senior finance lead for Buying and Merchandising, challenging and advising on trading decisions, assortment strategy, pricing, and promotions.
o Collaborate closely with C-level and Director-level stakeholders to align financial objectives with broader commercial goals.
o Co-ordinating the financial building blocks of the 3yr strategic plan and annual budget.
- Performance Management & Insight:
o Deliver commercial performance reporting across sales, margin, markdown, and stock KPIs.
o Deliver high-impact insights that drive profitable decision-making and improved return on stock investments.
o Lead regular trading and forecasting reviews, tracking results, identifying trends and recommending action plans.
- Commercial Planning & Forecasting:
o Lead the financial planning cycle (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning) across channels, geographies and departments.
o Develop robust, scenario-based financial models to support seasonal planning, category investment decisions, and risk/opportunity assessments.
- Stock & Margin Management:
o Support analysis of stock productivity, availability, cover, intake planning, and OTB (open-to-buy) governance.
o Support optimization of gross margin through deep analysis of markdown strategy, promotions, supplier terms, and pricing architecture.
Who we are looking for:
8–12+ years in Commercial Finance or FP&A roles, with strong exposure to retail or fashion buying/merchandising environments.- Proven track record in leading senior-level business partnering with buying, planning, or trading teams.
- Experience managing teams and building commercial finance capabilities.
- Expertise in margin, stock, and trading performance analytics, with a focus on actionable insight and decision support.
- Demonstrated success in influencing commercial outcomes and supporting strategic initiatives (e.g. pricing strategies, category expansion, trading performance turnaround).

- Retail Acumen: Deep understanding of how stock, pricing, and margin interrelate in a retail trading environment.
- Team Leadership: Strong people management and coaching capabilities, with a track record of developing talent.
- Change Agent: Comfortable driving process improvements, reporting upgrades, and new tools/systems implementation.
