The Role
As a maintenance mechanic, you are responsible for keeping the building, grounds, and installations in excellent condition. You perform maintenance on rolling equipment, support staff activities, and assist with (machine) assembly work. You also load and unload materials and machine parts, often using a forklift. You work closely with various departments and are a familiar face to all employees at our Hasselt location.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintenance of buildings and installations
- Upkeep of garden and grounds
- Logistical support (loading and unloading goods and materials)
- Logistical support during staff activities
- Assisting with assembly work and application testing
- Complying with safety instructions and wearing personal protective equipment
- Participating in safety training and promoting safety awareness
To be successful as a Maintenance Mechanic, you bring the following education, experience, and qualities:
- Secondary technical or vocational education, preferably in mechanics
- Forklift, safe lifting, first aid, and VCA certificates, or willingness to obtain them
- Several years of relevant work experience
- Fluent in Dutch, both spoken and written
- Solution-oriented and able to solve simple problems independently
- Strong both independently and in a team
- Able to read technical drawings and follow procedures accurately
