What will you do as a Maintenance Technician? (and why are you perfect for this role)
As a Maintenance Technician at Dutch Bakery in Tilburg, you are the technical backbone of our production process. You ensure that our machines don’t just run — they run at top performance.
You’ll be working in a modern industrial bakery where the entire process revolves around technical precision. From mixing dough in powerful industrial mixers, forming and processing via fully automatic dough lines, proofing in specialized proofing cabinets, to baking in gas-fired ovens. Even after baking, you’re involved in keeping the cooling and packaging processes running smoothly. In short, you are the key to making sure the entire process operates technically sound. These aren’t simple machines — they present real technical challenges.
Additionally, you will:
- Analyze and resolve malfunctions: Whether it's a minor glitch or a complex failure, you know exactly what to do
- Perform preventive maintenance: You prefer preventing downtime over solving it afterward — regular checks are second nature
- Refurbish and optimize: You think proactively about smarter, faster, safer solutions
- Support operators: Help colleagues on the floor use their lines effectively and prevent breakdowns
- Ensure safety: Record breakdowns and maintenance in the system and maintain a safe, clean working environment
This is your team at Dutch Bakery
At Dutch Bakery in Tilburg, you’ll join a small, tight-knit team of technical specialists. You’ll work closely with fellow technicians and report to the Head of the Technical Department.
The collaboration is practical and direct: short lines of communication, clear instructions, and a healthy dose of humor on the work floor. We have an open culture where everyone helps each other and takes ownership.
What do you bring?
You must speak excellent English, as clear communication is essential on the production floor. A basic understanding of Dutch is helpful, and you should be willing to learn Dutch—your colleagues primarily speak Dutch.
To thrive in the technical team at Dutch Bakery Tilburg, you need technical knowledge and the ability to work independently on a wide range of industrial systems. You’re analytical, structured, and have a keen technical eye. Your skills and knowledge should include:
- Electrical engineering: You can analyze electrical faults, safely open control cabinets, replace components, and check wiring according to NEN 3140
- Mechanics & mechanical engineering: You have experience with bearings, chains, transmissions, drives, motors, and structural parts
- Pneumatics: You understand valves, cylinders, and compressed air systems, and can detect and fix leaks or faults independently
- PLC knowledge: You can read and interpret faults on PLCs. You don’t need to be a programmer, but you should functionally understand what's happening
- Preventive & corrective maintenance: You’re familiar with maintenance schedules, inspection lists, and overhauling rotating components and production lines
- Technical documentation: You can read and interpret electrical diagrams, pneumatic drawings, and machine manuals
