Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to provide on-demand, ticket-based hardware support. Responsibilities include physical installations, cable management, and troubleshooting across network and server environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and manage fiber, copper, and power cabling.
- Perform rack and stack of network/server equipment.
- Support planned maintenance, migrations, and hardware swaps.
- Troubleshoot and replace failed components (e.g., line cards, cables, optics).
- Conduct functional and failure testing, BER testing, and loopback verification.
- Labeling, patching, asset tagging, and documentation.
- Provide support remotely or onsite depending on task nature.
Break-Fix Support Tasks:
- Clean, crimp, and test fiber/RJ45 cables.
- Replace optical components and line cards.
- Power cycle, reseat, or reboot hardware.
- Assist in RMA processes and component diagnostics.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in data center/network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with hardware from Nokia, Ciena, and ILA Hut sites.
- Skilled in fiber/copper cable handling (including MPO fibers).
- IMAC and break-fix proficiency.
- Basic understanding of IT/networking and troubleshooting procedures.
