The Operations Director for ALBI LI leads a team of approximately 300 people, with 5 to 7 direct reports. The team is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations, while adhering to local legislation and Air Liquide's IMS systems. The Operations Director is a member of the ALBI LI Management team and participates in operational and strategic discussions to improve the overall performance of ALBI LI and the LI cluster.
General Management : Accountable for the operational performance of ALBI LI in safety, compliance, environment, reliability, and efficiency. This includes leading and coaching direct reports and setting priorities from a strategic perspective. The role requires continuously striving for improved industrial performance and organizational effectiveness. The Director represents Operations on the ALBI LI management team and provides operational input during the design of large projects, ensuring proper staffing and good operability after completion. The main focus is on the medium- and long-term strategies for LI Operations in the Benelux.
Process Safety : Ensure full compliance with local regulations and Air Liquide IMS requirements.
Occupational Safety : Ensure the organization, particularly direct reports, is aware of HSE risks and mitigating measures. They must be aware of their responsibilities regarding their own and their team's safety and health, as well as the environment. The Director must ensure that the "stop-work authority" is well-known and practiced within the team in case of an imminent health-threatening situation or an anomaly impacting safety or the environment.
Quality and Environmental : Ensure all applicable quality and environmental management system requirements are implemented and monitored, and apply continuous improvement principles. This also includes leading and/or supporting incident investigations.
Human Resources : Manage, control, and implement all aspects of HR for the Operations team, including procedures, training, development, and evaluation. Ensure compliance with local regulations and Air Liquide HR policies , and maintain proper succession planning.
Ben jij de juiste persoon voor deze functie?
Education & Experience: A Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in chemical engineering . Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in industrial operations with extensive leadership experience .
Languages: English and Dutch are preferred, French is a plus.
Technical Expertise: Basic knowledge of ASU, HYCO, and cogeneration technologies is required . Good knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and other applicable laws is essential.
Management: The ability to motivate and mobilize a team, make decisions under pressure, and be trustworthy are priority skills . Other skills include the ability to see the bigger picture, deliver results, achieve change, empower and delegate, and have strong communication, networking, and presentation skills .
