The British School of Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Personal Assistant / Executive Assistant for a professional and confidential role supporting the school's Management Board (School Principal and Bursar).
This full-time role is based on-site at our school in Amsterdam, and applicants must reside within commuting distance of the school and have the legal right to work in The Netherlands. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this appointment.
What you will do
The Personal Assistant to the Management Board will ensure the efficient, smooth and confidential operation of the Principal's and Bursar's offices and daily business, as well as all aspects of operational management at the school. They will also provide confidential support to the Supervisory Board, with involvement in board meetings, detailing of minutes, secure storage of files and documents, and facilitation of communication between Supervisory Board, Management Board, and stakeholders.
On a regular basis they will be responsible for facilitating communication across Management Board (MB), Operational Leadership Team (OLT), Academic and Support departments, and will also provide strategic coordination & communication within the wider school community.
The Personal Assistant to the Management Board will have primary responsibility for:

About You
You’re an experienced Personal Assistant with an understanding of the structures, responsibilities, and practices of good governance and how Supervisory and Management Boards function. Ideally you will have experience of and prefer to work in an international environment. You may have exposure to the British education system and/or the international education sector and are attracted to working in a leading international school.
Qualifications and Experience
- HBO or Bachelor's degree or similar (preferred)
- High level of fluency in English
- Dutch language skills useful
- Proven work experience in a similar level role
- Experience working in an international environment
- Understanding of corporate governance and how Supervisory & Management Boards function
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administration, organizational, and time management skills
- High level of proficiency in computer skills (especially Google Suite)
- Able to prioritize and multi-task, and works well to deadlines
- Highly discreet, confidential and professional
- Resourceful and proactive
- Positive, approachable, good-humoured
- Confident, resilient, flexible
- Effective team player
- Knowledge of international education sector (preferred)
- Experience or understanding of the British educational system (preferred)
