About the role
The Principal Engineer Semiconductor Package Research is responsible to identify new type of semiconductor packages, platforms, materials, processes, equipment and concepts for Nexperia with a long-term view (about 3 to 5 year time horizon).
Besides that, you will be:
Responsible to work out and provide development proposals, which are solid and can be accepted for further developments and introduction.
Protecting new ideas via patents in collaboration with our IP department.
Accountable to collect technical market requirements, customer needs, technology scouting and benchmarking information to analyze technology and application trends and to derive innovative solutions.
Responsible to provide input for the package roadmap.
Responsible to develop and maintain University / Institute relationships, to create access to technologies, tools and materials via partnerships and actively building and maintaining a network of relevant experts.
Representing Nexperia Packaging in technical forums.
What you will need
University degree (MSc, PhD will be an advantage) in Semiconductor Packaging, Materials Technology, Chemistry, Electronics Engineering or similar.
At least 3 years in Research or Industrial R&D environment for Semiconductor Device Packaging.
Architectural thinking and technical leadership, ability to connect different technologies.
Excellent communication skills and team player within global, intercultural environment.
Proven ability to build an external network.
Energetic, result and business / customer orientated Subject Matter Expert.
