What You’ll Do
1. Test Preparation
- Collaborate with engineering and flight operations teams in the preparation, execution, and post-flight reporting of test campaigns.
- Monitor and interpret weather conditions to determine flight viability and ensure safe operations.
- Understand and analyze applicable UAV regulations and ensure compliance with airspace and safety guidelines.
- Perform pre-flight inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure all aircraft are safe, functional, and ready to fly.
- Ensure that all ground and flight assets, tools, and materials required for test missions are prepared and available.
2. Test Execution
- Conduct flights strictly following defined protocols.
- Ensure safety for personnel, infrastructure, and equipment during operations.
- Adapt flight plans as necessary to accommodate environmental or unforeseen conditions.
3. On-Site Test Missions
- Participate in occasional site missions, lasting 5 to 15 days.
- Ensure the successful execution of tests in diverse environments.
4. Equipment Maintenance and Repair (a plus)
- Perform preventive and corrective UAV maintenance.
- Handle basic technical repairs such as wiring, soldering, and mechanical or electronic adjustments if capable.
- Maintain UAV readiness and performance for upcoming missions.
Requirements
What You’ll Need
- Extensive experience piloting fixed-wing UAVs, including both large and small-scale models.
- Proficiency in radio control modes 1 and 2.
- Solid understanding of UAV systems, electronics, and flight principles (repair experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with safety protocols and risk management related to UAV operations (experience with SORA would be greatly valued)
- Ability to work independently during extended on-site assignments.
- Fluency in English is required
