MLA+ is looking for a Research & Communications Intern to join our Rotterdam office. This internship offers the opportunity to develop further research skills while supporting our team in both knowledge development and communications, working on a variety of international urban, landscape, and architectural projects.
As part of the role, you will contribute to research on cities, climate, and major spatial transitions, while also helping to communicate MLA+ projects and ideas through writing and content creation.
Who are we looking for:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s or advanced Bachelor’s program in Urbanism, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Spatial Planning, Communication, or related fields.
Excellent writing and communication skills in English (additional languages such as Dutch, German, Arabic or Mandarin are a plus).
Confidence in visual communication: basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite Knowledge of GIS, mapping, or data visualization is a plus.
Familiarity with social media, publications, and knowledge-sharing formats (e.g., articles, newsletters, presentations, exhibitions).
A willingness to learn, experiment, and grow in both research and communications tasks.
EU citizenship or a valid permit to work/study in the Netherlands.
Availability for a minimum of 4–6 months (full-time preferred, part-time negotiable).
