Scope of position:
As Research Associate/Lab Technician you are part of our laboratory department Toxicology & Drug Safety. Your role is crucial in testing the safety of drugs in Patient-Derived Organoids, developing new organoid models and investigating the mechanisms of toxicity. You also ensure that the organoids retain their patient characteristics during cell culture so that the experiments run smoothly.
What will you do?
- Conduct experiments with organoids for commercial customers, delivering high-quality results.
- Collaborate effectively with Research Associates, Lab Technicians, and Scientists to perform (complex) assays.
- Accurately follow the guidelines of SOPs, lab journals and study protocols.
- Manage part of our biobank by isolating organoids from patient material, ensuring the growth of new organoids, and expanding existing cultures.
- Analyze experimental data and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Present findings at internal meetings, contributing to team knowledge and project progression.
- Effectively prioritize tasks in alignment with project deadlines and milestones for commercial services.
What will you bring?
- Bachelor (HLO) degree in Life Sciences with 2+ years practical experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry or
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences. Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Experience with cell cultures, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with complex cell culture systems (e.g., transwell monolayers) and 3D organoids.
- Experience with at least one of the following laboratory techniques: (q)PCR, ELISA/HTRF, FACS and histology
- Passionate for commercial lab work and research, with a flexible mindset to adapt to changing circumstances.
- As a team player you are professional in your communication skills, enabling effective interaction across various organizational levels.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a team environment and are committed to delivering quality results.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
