We’re looking for a Retail Sales Manager to join our team in, Poeldijk, Netherlands.
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and business growth for avocados, with some involvement in mangos, across wholesale and select retail accounts in the Netherlands. This role focuses on expanding market presence, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing targeted sales strategies to optimize performance in key product categories.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify and secure high-value partnerships with wholesalers, retailers, and key players — with a strong focus on avocados.
- Conduct in-depth market research to track trends, understand customer needs, and outpace competitors.
- Attend major industry events, build pipelines, and expand brand visibility across new and existing markets.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies for avocados and mangoes — aligned with company growth goals.
- Use data-driven insights to spot risks, uncover opportunities, and boost sales performance.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts to support strategic planning and product development initiatives.
- Cultivate long-term, trust-based relationships with wholesale and retail clients to drive repeat business.
- Act as a reliable problem-solver, ensuring top-tier customer service and satisfaction.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure pricing accuracy, stock availability, and timely deliveries.
- Align sales forecasts and pricing strategies with procurement and logistics departments to optimise efficiency.
Requirements
Experience we look for:

- Proven experience in fresh produce sales, ideally within avocados or similar perishable products.
- Strong understanding of the wholesale trade market in Europe.
- Demonstrable skills in business development, sales strategy, and customer relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making.
- Proactive and results-driven, with a strategic mindset and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable
